GAIA-X: A Franco-German pitch towards a european data infrastructure - Ministerial talk and GAIA-X virtual expert forum
Representatives of the Federal Government and the French Government as well as business and science institutions of both countries have been working together with other European partners on the next generation of a secure data infrastructure for Europe: GAIA-X. This Franco-German project idea was first presented to the public at the Digital Summit in October 2019. Based on use cases from various economic domains and the public sector, representatives from about 300 companies and organisations have designed a technical architecture that guarantees trustworthy data exchange and can form the basis for a comprehensive data ecosystem.
The Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and the French Ministry of Economy and Finance (MINEFI) invite you to the presentation of the first results. Join the virtual LIVE-Talk between Federal Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier and French Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire on 4 June 2020 from 1 pm and to the subsequent GAIA-X expert forum until about 5 pm.
What to expect?
The event will start with a virtual live talk between the Federal Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier and the French Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire. This will be followed by a contribution by Prof. Dr. Wolf-Dieter Lukas, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Representatives from participating German and French companies will then explain the different roles and motivations in the project.
The subsequent GAIA-X virtual expert forum will provide interested parties with an in-depth look at the technical and organisational implementation of GAIA-X. Use cases will be presented and participants will have the opportunity to pose questions to GAIA-X experts.
The events will take place as a livestream.
